The tapered full carbon fork absorbs vibrations, significantly reducing handlebar shake. It works to enhance the overall comfort, and provides an excellent riding experience.

To support and accentuate a sporty riding style, Cube combined carbon and aluminum frames with high stiffness and aero elements. Despite its price and performance range, the Cube Attain maintains a relatively low overall weight.

The advantage of a carbon frame lies in its high durability, though it’s not invincible and can be damaged by excessive force. Carbon frames are stiffer and can handle more tension than aluminum frames, while being lighter. This is beneficial for challenging terrain or uphill rides, although a slightly heavier weight can be an advantage for downhill rides.

Aluminum frames, on the other hand, don’t break under intense impact but it can distort their shape. Cube employs Smooth Welding for their aluminum frames, which increases their strength and uses less material, reducing overall weight. This gives them a slight weight disadvantage compared to carbon frames.

Which Components Equip the Cube Attain?

Cube installs only high-quality components on its bikes, relying on renowned brands or in-house designs to ensure the best possible standard. They typically use Shimano for their installed derailleurs and shifters. The derailleur ensures smooth transitions between different chainrings on the crankset. Cube's entry-level Attain models often feature the Shimano Tiagra groupset, while mid-range models may have Shimano 105 or Shimano Ultegra. Electronic shifting is not commonly used in the entry-level range. For an enhanced training performance, you can add a power meter to the crankset for precise data analysis.

Cube almost exclusively equips its new bikes with disc brakes, as they offer higher braking power compared to rim brakes. This results in less effort required during braking, enhancing safety and comfort during long descents. Disc brakes provide excellent modulation and even perform well in wet conditions. They often feature a flat-mount system specially designed for road bikes. Older models may still come with rim brakes, as the shift to disc brakes became more widespread over the past 2-5 years.

For the saddle, saddle clamp, and seat post, Cube predominantly uses its own designs, occasionally incorporating products from established partners. The stem connects the handlebar to the steerer tube. The separate construction of the cockpit ensures excellent adjustability to the rider's geometry.

The wheels are either custom-made by Cube or sourced from the Swiss manufacturer DT Swiss. Cube often pairs these wheels with Continental or Schwalbe tires, either with or without tubes. Opting for tubeless reduces weight, due to the absence of an inner tube, without compromising air tightness. The resulting lower air pressure provides increased grip and a better riding experience during your adventures.
