With the Bianchi Arcadex excursions into nature are really fun

A gravel bike is made to get you safely to your destination on and off paved roads. The frame geometry allows you high speeds and with wider tires you have more grip on loose ground. With the Bianchi Arcadex you get an all-road bike that performs strongly on the gravel and asphalt. Now you can live out the racing DNA of Bianchi also in nature and complete even faster the miles when bikepacking.

💡 About the bike

Facts

The Arcadex carbon frame is available in frame sizes XS-S-M-L-XL. The frameset has 12 × 142 mm thru axles and is equipped with flatmount brakes. The bottom bracket is inserted via press fit for better stiffness. The Arcadex Gravel bike also has the world-renowned Bianchi racing DNA to be used in a variety of areas. You can be sure of the gravel specific characteristics and become one with nature.

The Arcadex frame impresses with its good responsiveness and gives you a feeling of top performance from the start. From the first step on the pedals you notice the good power transmission. Thanks to generous tire clearance you have the necessary grip in challenging terrain or through narrower tires the option for more speed on gravel roads. You can adapt the Bianchi Arcadex exactly to the demands of each trip.

The naming is inspired by Arcadia which is a legendary region from Greek and Roman myths. The area is emblematic of splendor and harmony. With the Arcadex you literally merge with nature and can free yourself from the worries of everyday life. You can leave stress behind and immerse yourself in beautiful landscapes and let them intoxicate you. With so much balance it's easy to showcase your skills. You master challenging surfaces just as brilliantly as fast stages on paved roads.

To maintain high speed on the Bianchi Arcadex you get improved aerodynamics. For protection from mud and water mudguards can be attached to the eyelets. If you plan longer tours you can also attach plenty of bike bags. They fit clothing just as well as some tools, patch material or a spare tube.

History

Bianchi has been around for more than 100 years and is an integral part of the major tours. The company's beginnings date back to 1885 when it was still a small workshop in Milan. The company headquarters are located just under an hour's drive from the place of origin and continue to be linked to it. The Bianchi Via Nirone 7 is a tribute to the early days of Bianchi.

One of Bianchi's main identifying features is the Celeste color, a shade of turquoise that Edoardo Bianchi mixed from leftover stock. The turquoise changed slightly over the years but the bikes are usually identified as Bianchi bikes from a distance. The Bianchi Arcadex is also available in the familiar color such as the Celeste CK16/Blue Note Glossy color mix.

⚙️ Components and Equipment

The Bianchi Arcadex you can choose from 4 models with different basic equipment

The components come as much as possible from the Bianchi forge itself. The Reparto Corse components are developed in close collaboration with riders order to integrate the experience of the track directly into the design. In addition components from well-known manufacturers such as Shimano, Campagnolo, WTB, Fulcrum Racing, Alex Rims or FSA are used.

Groupsets

  • The Bianchi Arcadex GRX is available in three different basic configurations with Shimano groupsets. Once as Arcadex GRX 810 Di2, then as Arcadex GRX 810 as well as Arcadex GRX 600 version. The Shimano GRX 810 Di2 is an electronic shifting, while the Shimano GRX 810 and Shimano GRX 600 work mechanically. Furthermore you get an Arcadex model that uses Campagnolo Ekar products on the rear derailleur or shifter.
  • For the chain the Campagnolo Ekar 1x13 - 117 or the Kmc X11-1 EPT finish are used. For the crankset the Italians use for example the Shimano GRX 810 FC-RX810-1 40T, Hollowtech II. The crank length is available in three sizes with 170mm-XS-SM, 172.5mm-MD-LG and 175mm-XL. Compared to a cyclocross bike you have lower gears on a gravel bike to master climbs easily.

Brakes

  • The high-quality disc brakes give you a sense of security in any situation. Especially when you are riding in muddy terrain disc breaks are recommended. Rim brakes are not quite as efficient in comparison but you can fully rely on disc brakes instead. The superior braking power easily makes up for the weight disadvantage.

Saddle

  • When it comes to the saddle the Selle Italia ModelX Superflow or Fi'zi:k Argo Tempo R5 are used. Both manufacturers have long stood for excellent saddles which are also used extensively by the competition. In addition the in-house Reparto Corse 2315HRN saddle is used.

Seatpost

  • Here you will find either the Reparto Corse with Alloy Shaft AL6061 or the Reparto Corse Carbon seatpost.

Handlebar & Stem

  • The Reparto Corse Aluminum handlebar with aero shape is a streamlined and powerful component. When it comes to handlebar tape you're in good hands with the La Spirale Ribbon Cork. For the headset among others the FSA SMR HS is used and combined with the Reparto Corse by FSA ST-OS-188/SMR stem.

Wheels

  • For the wheels Bianchi relies on the Fulcrum Rapid Red 500 or AlexRims GD24 Disc wheelset. The Fulcrum Rapid Red is best made for outdoor adventures. It was developed specifically for gravel use and offers you sufficient comfort even on challenging terrain. You can mount tubeless tires from 30 mm to 46 mm.
  • The AlexRims GD24 can be found in the racing and cyclocross category and is a very good option as a gravel wheelset. It's also a tubeless ready system that you can tackle your bikepacking trips with.

Tires

  • For tires you can rely on the WTB Riddler Race and WTB Riddler Comp. The Riddler is a gravel tire that is made for high speeds on a variety of surfaces. The side profile has a good grip and the center ensures sufficient speed.

Additional equipment

  • You can always add pedals for the Bianchi Arcadex into your shopping cart. For bikepacking trips the composition varies. For longer trips it is worth packing a little more tools and clothing. For shorter trips a few basics are enough to experience 1-2 unforgettable nights in nature.
